Gatlinburg · 4 days
Dollywood, Gatlinburg's strip, and Pigeon Forge in four packed days. We've sequenced Dollywood early in the week before weekend crowds hit, alternated high-energy theme-park days with slower mountain-air mornings, and built in two dinner shows that double as meals — Stampede and the Hatfield-McCoy Feud. The pancake houses, dinner shows, and SkyBridge are the through-line; the Smokies are the backdrop, not the focus.

Cabin breakfasts on Days 2 and 4 save $40–60 vs. restaurant meals. Stock the cabin kitchen on arrival day.
Both dinner shows (Stampede and Hatfield–McCoy) include a full meal — no separate dinner needed. Book online for best pricing and availability.
The Island in Pigeon Forge and Mountain Mall are free to enter — you only pay for rides and shopping. The Island Show Fountain runs free shows every 30 minutes.
Dolly Parton's Stampede and Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud sell out in peak season. Book 2–4 weeks ahead for your preferred showtime. Arrive 30 minutes early for pre-show entertainment.
Arrive at park opening (9:30 AM) and head straight to popular rides like Lightning Rod and Wild Eagle. Lines are shortest in the first 90 minutes. Download the Dollywood app for real-time wait times.
Days 1, 2, and 4 are Pigeon Forge-focused. Day 3 is Gatlinburg. The drive between the two is 15–20 minutes — allow extra time for Parkway traffic on weekends.
Both dinner shows feature pyrotechnics, loud music, and crowd participation. Bring ear protection for toddlers and sensory-sensitive kids. Shows run 2+ hours — plan accordingly for younger children.
Many attractions have optional add-ons: WonderWorks ropes course ($15), aquarium penguin encounters ($25), go-kart rides ($8–12 each). Set a family budget before each stop to avoid surprises.
Swap stops, change dates, add your own picks. Rosie keeps the rhythm intact.
